Long Beach Heartwell Fastpitch strives to provide a positive youth sport experience by encouraging parents, coaches, officials, and other league players to demonstrate good sportsmanship at practices and games.

All coaches, parents, players and their guests are to conduct themselves in an orderly and positive fashion towards all players, coaches, officials, board members and city staff. Failure to meet or abide by these rules at the discretion of the league board may be cause for removal from the game/practice field.

  1. I will remember that youth sports activities are for the children and not the adults.
  2. I will do my best to make youth sports fun for my child.
  3. I will emphasize practices and skill development and how they benefit my child by ensuring she arrives and is retrieved in a timely fashion at all scheduled practices and games.
  4. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
  5. I (and my guests) will not engage or encourage any unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.
  6. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss or confront coaches or officials at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed-upon time and place. If I find I am not satisfied after speaking with my coach, I understand I should then contact the Division Player Agent responsible for the age group.
  7. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  8. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
  9. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
  10. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  11. I will ensue that my child’s playing environment is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I (and my guests) will refrain from their use at the sports event, including at or within the vicinity of the playing or practice fields and courts.

I understand that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action levied by the LBHFP Board of Directors that could include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Parental suspension for games
  • Parental season suspension
  • Parental removal from all league activities

We have a ZERO tolerance policy for the use of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol in our league.  Violations of Section will result in the following:
